So is the Shotgun Diaries (and I guess Fear by proxy) mechanically similar to HotB... ie using aspects, dice pools, risks, etc

You can tell it was designed by the same designer, but it is different in some very major and awesome fun ways. It'd be like if an engineer designed an elegant mansion and then turned around and designed a nightmare funhouse. They have the same piping, they both have walls, and the like, but they serve almost two entirely different purposes.

Does that help explain it?

Soo... is Shotgun Diaries out yet or was it delayed? If it is, I was not able to find it on either DriveThrueRPG or IPR.

I delayed it for just a couple of weeks. I didn't want to release two books at the same time (Yellow Sign).

So what sets this apart from All Flesh Must Be Eaten or an evening of GURPS zombie mayhem, etc?

I have faith in the Wick, but my wallet needs something more tangible!

If you've seen Wilderness of Mirrors, you know how that's different from Top Secret and Spycraft.
The Shotgun Diaries is to All Flesh as WoM is to Spycraft.

The Shotgun Diaries is out here at RPGNow. Haven't had a chance to download it yet, so I'd like to see what you guys think of it.

Bought it, read it, love it. Looking forward to running a game either as a one shot or a short series, depending on how it goes in one session.

Still thinking of doing L4D style, with Special Infected potentially as Complications.
