Online Cabal?

Kyocera Ru wrote:Just a suggestion, since I'd likely be narrating any local cabal anyway... has anyone thought of doing an online cabal for LS? Either through the chat client or through Skype (for voice), or Gametable?

If we could get a group of four Narrator-ready people, then we could run a game every week with rotating Narrators so everyone would get a chance to play. Or else form two online cabals and have each Narrator be a part of the other cabal. Or have a particularly self-sacrificing person agree to Narrate.

I don't know how other people in the states could react to European times, but I'm fine for what we used to call "Daywalker Games" - games with Euro-friendly timetables.

I love the suggestion and would be well up to narrate and esp to play! I'm in the UK.

I'm in, depending on program. Anything that requires voice might be iffy, as I can't find my mic.

I have found that heavy diplomacy goes so much better with voice. Plus, text loses so much subtle inflection and meaning. And cool Ven accents. Since HotB is so very much a diplomatic game, I think Skype (or Teamspeak, or Ventrilo, or what have you) would be best.

So, sounds like we have 3, and I might be able to add 1 or 2 more.

I suspect the shipping to Canuckistan would be more expensive than the mike itself :)

You can get a cheap one for, well, cheap.

Cheap = more than I have.

And take it from someone who used to run an E-business: $3-5.

Do you have a local freecycle group to post a wanted note with?

Woot! I absolutely do. I'm doing some F2F games of Witch Hunter (got to pimp that game, I write for it. Loads of fun, alternate 17th century horror) at my friendly local gaming store this weekend, but when's a good time to get together and do this, normally? I'm subsisting on some writing and other odd projects right now, so my schedule is more or less wide open, though I think we'll end up doing daytime games to accommodate our Scottish friend.

Incidentally the FLGS had a copy of HotB in stock. I talked about it with a few people, now they want to play. Woo! Corruption of the innocent!
