Lorr yawns visibly and says, "It's amazing at what lengths some scholars will go to appear fearsome. Nonetheless, I have grown tired and drowsy with the study of false books... Have I shown you the new Road to the north? We must travel there, dear guest."

Lorr's hands flashed the words, "Let's head to the Ruins now. I hope you don't mind the escort... It was good advice you gave me: I don't trust you at all."

Iyl can now hear the quiet footsteps of two dozen men down the corridor while six guards enter through the library's service door.
"Sparrow, I'll call you back. I've just gutted a man with a shard of wood and I need to make sure he's dead... I think you're right, Sparrow. I am a bad, bad man..."

Iyl smiles to himself, and drops the pretense of the sign language going back to rubbing the palm of his right hand. "It will be a safe journey to the ruins what with so many Roadmen. And it is perfectly right of you not to trust me, as I'm very untrustworthy. I must ask though, how far does your distrust of me go, my Beautiful Protector?"

Lorr laughs, "Well, it goes as far as being the best possible host to you! I have offered you my Hospitality, after all!"
Lorr sighs as his guards move closer to Iyl, surrounding him now. Lorr adds, "I will just be your host until I see a need to release you from my good graces... You already know that I will not hurt you further, but for both of our sakes, do not force my hand. Pick up the book, would you please?"
"Sparrow, I'll call you back. I've just gutted a man with a shard of wood and I need to make sure he's dead... I think you're right, Sparrow. I am a bad, bad man..."

Iyl picks up the book, and grabs his customary potion satchel. The Kachka nimbly climbed up his back, and tucked itself away in his hood, carefully peering over Iyl's shoulder.

"Have you enough horses, or shall some of us walk afoot?"

"In your condition, a carriage is the best option. Tell me about the duel as we walk to the courtyard, Iyl," Lorr says. "I have not had a chance to witness or partake in such a duel before."

((OOC: do you want to stop the scene there? Let me know if we covered what you wanted to cover.))

OOC: We've covered everything I can think of, for now. I might come back to this topic later to cover future events Iyl participates in while I'm gone from the LARP.

in a small encrypted diary, Iyl writes his thoughts.

Lorr is a fool, thinking to make me a prisoner. His guards are too superstitious to follow me all through the ruins, and too trusting that there is only one entrance. It didn't take long for Kethric to find another way out of the ruins.

I've made my way back to Lorr's library a number of times now. I'm amazed at how many books he's managed to smuggle from Calaban. It took a while, but I now have the resources I need to remove the ritual tome to a safe place.

Without Calaban's books, I would never have known about the Device. Lorr is off now having made the Collector. Still uncertain why the Aelva Danna would use the “Wrath of the Greater Servants” in a ritual.

Yes, too often we forget that we were once servants. That once even the greatest among us were no more than veth to the Sorcerer-Kings. Well, I shall be reminding them of that soon enough.

I shall have to send Kethric out with some correspondence soon, and see to the deposition of the tome. I need to get back to my lands. I'll have to wait until Lorr becomes further embroiled in the Council of Dukes, until he is long away from these lands before I can go on an extensive journey myself. Hopefully Lorr can use his new power and influence on Isla, and obtain “Kyenin's” lands. Despite my stressing the importance of it, he's done nothing.

Ikhalu's black hands, but we only need the ruins found there! We can move the Hall of Spectres, complete the Device, and fill the Collector... Oh to be so impotently trapped waiting for others to take their steps.

Perhaps my old Tivalti teacher could give me some advice on patience. Ah, but there's a ven whom I've not remembered in some time... An Idea occurs, and I've another letter to write...
