Vassal Bands and Master Vassals

Postby Alexai Adrente » Sun Sep 14, 2008 10:00 pm

So, in the advancing Vassals section, its clear about how to advance your standard vassals, rank 1, 2, 3, then NPC.

But Vassal Bands and Master Vassals. The way I read it, when you get a vassal band (roadmen, personal guard, spy network, staff) and then you spend the season action to create an NPC, you get the appropriate NPC master vassal in addition to the vassal band?

Or does the vassal band get promoted into an NPC, then you've got to rebuild the band?

From the ranks of the band, one individual stands above the rest to become the Master Whatever. Assume the season action incorporates promoting one ven, and filling in the hole that his departure makes. Each rank of band vassal represents ten bodies. Since it's universally accepted that a season is a three month span, that's plenty of time to recruit and train up one grunt.

Unless, of course, you and/or your game choose to run it differently.

Thats what I was thinking myself, but there was enough ambigiuity in the way the section was written that I wasn't sure.

And I apologize for all the questions, I like to know how things are suppose to work before I go tinkering with the moving parts.

Snag got the answer to the question.

Listen to Snag. Snag is almost always right (except when he's wrong, and then I'll smack him around).
