Rat might taste like pumpkin pie too, but we'll never know. As long as the grandparents are living in this area, and the kids are less than 18 (aka not on their own yet), it's doubtful that a move is likely. But it's all good. :)

I can, and have, played a combat monster before. I can even crunch well. I just find it boring.

Players crunch because they want their character to work. If my character is smart, I don't want dice telling me that he's dumb. If my character is strong, I don't want dice telling me he's weak.

One of the reasons the Houses system works the way it does: it avoids the Whiff Factor.

Tampa? You are SO CLOSE to me, and yet so far.

I just moved to Jacksonville, FL. I'd love to play, or to run it for you, or share. I've had the best luck just going to the game stores and harassing people on Friday and Saturday nights. There's plenty. I can't say as I have a game of Houses up and running yet, but I've found a good number of people I can filter down into a small but fun group.

Flyers... with tear away email or urls. And then infiltrate. Play whatever card/board game they are playing that night and ask them what they're into. Then when they ask you, BAM!

And if they don't ask you? Bad Form.
